Penelope W. Rumsey

pwrphoto    Penelope Rumsey (Penny) began her legal career engaged in the general practice of law. Over the past twenty years,  Penny’s practice has evolved into a divorce and family law practice. One of the cases Penny handled early in her career was Thomas v. Thomas, 259 Ga.  73, 377 S.E.2d 666 (1989) in which the Supreme Court of Georgia established the source of funds rule as applied to the equitable division of marital property.

Penny’s most recent reported appellate case was Jones-Shaw v. Shaw, 291 Ga. 252, 728 S.E.2d 646 (2012), which the Supreme Court of Georgia addressed the division of a closely held corporation between husband and wife. Penny has tried numerous cases to verdict during her career. However, Penny continues her representation of husbands and wives with a view to resolution of her clients’ cases in a manner that is the least stressful to the client and cost effective.

Penny would be glad to talk to you about your case. Please contact her at Rumsey & Ramsey at (770) 394-9400 to discuss your case or other legal inquiry.
